Official Rules

CONTEST OPEN TO ALL LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE FIFTY (50) UNITED STATES/DC WHO ARE EIGHTEEN (18) YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER AND WHO OWN AT LEAST ONE (1) CAT.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.

ALL DISPUTES WILL BE RESOLVED SOLELY BY BINDING ARBITRATION AND PARTICIPANTS WAIVE THE ABILITY TO BRING CLAIMS IN A CLASS ACTION FORMAT.

INTERNET ACCESS AND A VALID EMAIL ACCOUNT ARE REQUIRED TO ENTER THE CONTEST.

The General Mills Make Your Feline Foodie Famous Contest (“Contest”) is sponsored by General Mills Marketing, Inc. (“Sponsor”), 1 General Mills Blvd., Minneapolis, MN 55426, and is administered by Promotion Management Center, Inc. (“Administrator”), 31205 Falcon Avenue, Stacy, MN 55079.

CONTEST PERIOD: The Contest Period begins on March 1, 2025, at 12:00 AM Central Time (“CT”) and ends on March 31, 2025, at 11:59:59 PM CT. The Administrator’s computer is the official clock for the Contest.
ELIGIBILITY: The Contest is open only to individuals who are legal U.S. residents of the fifty (50) United States/D.C. and who are at least eighteen (18) years old and who own at least one (1) cat. Employees, directors, officers, independent contractors (including influencers and endorsers) and agents of Sponsor, Administrator, and each of their respective parent companies, divisions, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies and suppliers involved in the Contest (collectively, “Contest Entities”), as well as the members of each of their immediate families (i.e., spouse, parent, grandparent, sibling, child, grandchild and their respective spouses and the “steps” of each, all lineal descendants, including those by adoption, regardless of where they reside) and persons residing in the same household as such individuals (whether related or not) are not eligible to participate. Void where prohibited by law. Participation in the Contest constitutes participant’s full and unconditional agreement to these “Official Rules” and Sponsor’s/Administrator’s decisions and interpretations, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CONTEST: During the Contest Period, the participant will go to www.WinBLUETastefuls.com (“Website”) for submission. Participant will be required to fill out entry form with their first and last name, email address, city, state and zip code as well as the name of their cat and a statement of no more than 300 characters explaining why their cat should be the BLUE Tastefuls Feline Foodie.

Then, participant uploads one (1) recent photo of their cat alone, without the participant themselves, any other persons or any other animals in the picture. (Only the following file formats for photos will be accepted: JPG/JPEG, PNG, HEIC maximum file size is 10 MB). Finally, participant must check the box indicating that they have read, understand and agree to these Official Rules. (If this box is not checked, entry will not be accepted.) Entry must be submitted by 11:59:59 PM CT on March 31, 2025, to be valid. Limit: A participant may submit only one (1) registration, with one (1) entry per cat that they own, up to a maximum of five (5).

If the entry is accepted, participant will receive a coupon redeemable for up to $3 off the purchase of BLUE Tastefuls cat food (dry and wet). Expiration date and other restrictions apply. Regardless of number of entries submitted, there is a limit of one (1) coupon per participant.
RESTRICTIONS ON CONTEST ENTRY: Entry must be entirely the original work product of participant and cannot be copied in whole or in part from any other source. Use of video editing capture, software, filters and similar mechanisms or artificial intelligence to create entry (including statement and/or photo) is prohibited and will result in automatic disqualification with all entries being void.

Photo of cat must be submitted during the same online session as completed entry form. Piecemeal or partial entries will not be accepted. Use of automated, robotic or programmed means of entry is prohibited. Proof of submission of entry form and cat photo does not constitute proof of Sponsor’s/Administrator’s receipt of same or proof of entry. Should Sponsor/Administrator acknowledge receipt of entry (including via provision of coupon), such acknowledgment is not otherwise binding upon Sponsor or Administrator. Once submitted, an entry cannot be modified, amended or supplemented by participant.

Any dispute as to the identity of participant will be resolved by Sponsor and Administrator in their sole discretion. IMPORTANT: If entering via a mobile device, message and data rates apply. Not all mobile telephone providers carry the service necessary to participate in this Contest. Participants should consult their wireless provider’s pricing plans.
RESTRICTIONS ON CONTENT OF STATEMENT & PHOTO: Entry will be disqualified if Sponsor and/or Administrator determine in their sole discretion that the name of the cat, statement and/or photo elements of entry (as applicable) do not fully comply with the following content requirements. (Participant will NOT be notified if their entry is disqualified due to non-compliance with the content requirements)
- Includes any material that may infringe the trademark or copyright or other intellectual property rights of a third party;
- Includes any material that demeans, insults or denigrates another individual because of their race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, gender/gender identification, sexual orientation, citizenship status, disability or other classification protected under law;
- Includes any material of a controversial or inflammatory nature (e.g., political commentary);
- Includes content that is pornographic, sexually suggestive, profane, obscene or otherwise inappropriate;
- Includes consumption of alcohol or drug use, acts of violence, or animal cruelty;
- Includes any material that is illegal;
- Is not truthful (e.g., participant does not own the cat depicted in photo; statement includes something false, misleading or deceptive regarding the cat)
- Includes personal information about participant or any other person (e.g., full name, e-mail address, phone number or street address);
- Is not relevant to the Contest theme;
- Includes any material that has been previously published;
- Includes any content that reflects negatively on or adversely affects the business reputation and goodwill of Sponsor or its BLUE Tastefuls product.
GRANT OF RIGHTS IN PHOTO AND STATEMENT: Participant grants to Sponsor and its designees the non-exclusive, irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable right and license to use, perform, exhibit, reproduce and/or otherwise exploit the name of their cat, photo and statement that they submitted as an entry in the Contest in any manner and in any and all distribution channels, venues or media now known or hereafter devised, without further notice or any compensation to participant. Participant expressly acknowledges that such use may include but is not limited to the posting of the name of their cat, photo and statement in a “gallery” for public viewing on Website, without any prior notification of such use.

Participant further waives any “Moral Rights of Authors” (“Droit Moral”) or similar natural rights of ownership that they may have in the name of their cat or photo and statement submission whether under statutory or common law.

Participant understands and agrees that Sponsor and its designees have wide access to ideas, stories, designs and other literary/artistic materials submitted to them by outside sources or being developed by their own employees and that such ideas/stories/designs/literary/artistic materials may be competitive with, similar to (or even identical to) the name of their cat, the photo and statement submission and that Sponsor and its designees shall have no liability to participant or any third party in conjunction therewith.

Participant understands and agrees that Sponsor and its designees do not have any duty of confidentiality or other fiduciary duty to participant relative to their photo and statement submission.

Participant agrees, upon the request of Sponsor/Administrator and without compensation of any kind, to execute any additional documents so as to effect, record or perfect the grant of rights contemplated by this Section.
WINNER DETERMINATION: On or about April 25, 2025, all eligible entries (i.e., photo and statement submissions along with the name of the cat) will be evaluated by a judging panel comprised of representatives of Sponsor and Administrator according to the following equally weighted criteria:
- Overall alignment of cat with the values and spirit of the BLUE Tastefuls brand;
- Creativity
- Originality
- Photo quality fit for advertising
In the event of a tie, an additional judge will review the tied entries pursuant to the preceding criteria to determine the potential winner(s). The participants who submitted the top sixteen (16) entries will win prizes, subject to compliance with the requirements of the winner notification section below.

Participants expressly acknowledge and agree that the results of the judging is proprietary information belonging exclusively to Sponsor and waive any right to review or inspect the results of the judging.
WINNER NOTIFICATION: The potential winners will by notified e-mail. (For clarity, Sponsor’s posting in a “gallery” on Website of name of cat, photo and statement submitted by entrant does NOT constitute notification of winning.) Such notification will take place beginning on or about April 28, 2025.

Participants understand and agree that Sponsor/Administrator will utilize commercially reasonable efforts to contact potential winners, which may include only attempting to contact potential winners one (1) time, and expressly waive any claim challenging the effectiveness and nature of such notification efforts.

Potential winners may be required to complete, sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release and a Publicity Release (where legal) (“Affidavit/Release”), including provision of proof of ownership of the cat, which is subject of their selected entry, within five (5) business days of date of winner notification.

For Grand Prize only, potential winner must also agree to a background check and Publicity Release (where legal), with the understanding that the Grand Prize will be forfeited without compensation or liability of any kind if Sponsor determines in its sole discretion that the background check reveals that they committed a felony, a crime of moral turpitude or engaged in any other conduct (whether or not a crime) which might reflect negatively upon and adversely affect the business reputation and goodwill of Sponsor and its BLUE Tastefuls brand. Potential winner agrees to cooperate fully with Sponsor and Administrator as to the conduct of the background check providing any and all consents, information and materials required upon request and without compensation as well as to be bound by the results of same which are final and binding in all respects (even if, pursuant to such results, Sponsor determines that it is appropriate to disqualify potential winner from the Contest).

A potential winner will be disqualified, and the corresponding prize forfeited without compensation of any kind in the event of any of the following: (i) potential winner does not timely complete, sign and return any required Affidavit/Release; (ii) potential winner cannot be contacted by Sponsor/Administrator; (iii) if Sponsor/Administrator determine in their sole discretion that the potential winner does not own the cat in their selected entry, is not eligible or otherwise in violation of these Official Rules; or (iv) for Grand Prize, based on the results of the background check. If a potential winner is disqualified, the forfeited prize will be awarded to an alternate selected as per Section 7 above.

Grand Prize (highest ranked eligible entry): winner’s cat may be featured in social media or other advertising by Sponsor for its BLUE Tastefuls brand AND one (1) year supply of BLUE Tastefuls dry and wet cat food for one cat (defined as one (1) cup per day for an average size cat of 10-14lbs.).

PRIZE RESTRICTIONS: For Grand Prize: (i) Sponsor may but is in no way obligated to use winner’s cat in social media or other advertising materials for its BLUE Tastefuls brand; and, Sponsor’s failure to do so for any reason will not result in any liability to Sponsor under any legal theory. (ii) Should Sponsor elect to use winner’s cat in social media or other advertising materials: (a) Sponsor will have complete creative control over such use of winner's cat in the advertising, without review or approval of Grand Prize winner; (b) Grand Prize winner will not receive any royalty payment or compensation other than the one (1) year supply of BLUE Tastefuls dry and wet cat food element of the Grand Prize in conjunction with such use; (c) Sponsor may (or may not) identify Grand Prize winner and/or their cat in conjunction with such use and, if Grand Prize winner and/or their cat is so identified, Sponsor will determine the format and content of such identification; and (d) Grand Prize winner may be required to sign a confidential disclosure agreement and/or other agreements intended to memorialize, perfect or record Sponsor’s ownership rights in materials using the winner’s cat in social media or other advertising upon Sponsor’s request and without compensation other than the one (1) year supply of BLUE Tastefuls dry and wet cat food element of the Grand Prize.

For all Prizes: (i) there is a limit of one (1) Prize per person regardless of the number of entries submitted; (ii) Prize must be accepted as awarded and no prize substitution (in whole or in part) is allowed except at the sole discretion of Sponsor and only then for prize/prize element of comparable value; (iii) Prizes are not redeemable or exchangeable by winners for cash; (iv) Winner is solely responsible for any and all unspecified costs and expenses related to acceptance and use of Prize; (v) Winner will be solely responsible for all taxes on the value of the Prize, and if its value is $599 or more, winner will be issued an IRS Form 1099 with winner agreeing to fully cooperate with Sponsor and Administrator as to the issuance of same including provision of their Social Security Number or Tax Identification Number; (vi) Prizes are not transferable except at the sole discretion of Sponsor; (vii) Sponsor reserves the right to award a Prize via multiple shipments.

By accepting Prize, winner agrees to the use of their name, address (city, state), likeness, character, photograph, voice, other indicia of persona and/or statements made by them regarding the Prize, Sponsor or the Contest for advertising, trade and publicity purposes by Sponsor and its designees without notice or further compensation, except where prohibited by law. Nothing herein in any obligates Sponsor to make use of such rights and its failure to do so will not result in any liability to winner.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: By participating in this Contest, participants agree that the Contest Entities, and each of their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, representatives, consultants, contractors, legal counsel, advertising, public relations, promotional, fulfillment and marketing agencies, website providers and each their respective officers, directors, stockholders, employees, representatives, designees and agents (“Released Parties”) are not responsible for: (i) lost, late, incomplete, stolen, misdirected, undeliverable notifications; (ii) any computer, telephone, satellite, cable, network, electronic or Internet hardware or software malfunctions, failures, connections, or availability; (iii) garbled, corrupt or jumbled transmissions, service provider/Internet/Website/UseNet accessibility, availability or traffic congestion; (iv) any technical, mechanical, printing or typographical or other error; (v) the incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information (including cat photo), or the failure to capture, or loss of, any such information; (vi) any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, technical error, theft or destruction or unauthorized access; (vii) any injury or damage, whether personal or property, to participants or to any person's computer or mobile device related to or resulting from participating in the Contest; and (viii) entries that are late, forged, lost, misplaced, misdirected, tampered with, incomplete, deleted, damaged, garbled or otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules.

By participating in the Contest, each participant agrees: (i) to be bound by these Official Rules; (ii) to waive any rights to claim ambiguity with respect to these Official Rules; (iii) to waive all of their rights to bring any claim, action or proceeding against any of the Released Parties in connection with the Contest; and (iv) to forever and irrevocably agree to indemnify, release and hold harmless each of the Released Parties from any and all claims, lawsuits, judgments, causes of action, proceedings, demands, fines, penalties, liability, costs and expenses (including, without limitation, reasonable attorneys’ fees) that may arise in connection with: (a) the Contest, including, but not limited to, any Contest-related activity or element thereof, and the participant’s entry or inability to participate in the Contest or use a Prize (if applicable); (b) the violation of any third-party privacy, personal, publicity or proprietary rights; (c) acceptance, receipt, delivery of, possession, defects in, use, non-use, misuse, inability to use, loss, damage, destruction, negligence or willful misconduct in connection with the use of a Prize or any element thereof (if applicable); (d) any change in a Prize or any element thereof (if applicable); (e) human error; (f) any wrongful, negligent, or unauthorized act or omission on the part of any of the Released Parties; (g) lost, late, stolen, misdirected, damaged or destroyed Prize or any element thereof (if applicable); or (h) the negligence or willful misconduct by a participant.

If, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned, or the integrity and/or feasibility of the Contest is severely undermined by any event beyond the control of Sponsor, including but not limited to fire, flood, epidemic, earthquake, explosion, labor dispute or strike, act of God or public enemy, satellite or equipment failure, riot or civil disturbance, war (declared or undeclared), terrorist threat or activity, or any federal, state or local government law, order, or regulation, order of any court or jurisdiction, infection by computer virus, unauthorized intervention, technical failures or other cause not reasonably within the control of Sponsor (each, a “Force Majeure” event or occurrence), Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to abbreviate, cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest and/or proceed with the Contest and make the prizes available to be won in a manner it deems fair and reasonable.

WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, EVERYTHING REGARDING THIS CONTEST IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON- INFRINGEMENT.
DISPUTES: THIS CONTEST IS GOVERNED BY, AND WILL BE CONSTRUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH, THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA, AS TO CONTRACTS BEING MADE AND PERFORMED THEREIN, WITHOUT REGARD TO THE CHOICE OF LAW/CONFLICT OF LAW PRINCIPLES WHICH WOULD RESULT IN THE APPLICATION OF THE LAW OF ANY JURISIDICTION OTHER THAN MINNESOTA. IF THE CONTROVERSY OR CLAIM IS NOT OTHERWISE RESOLVED THROUGH DIRECT DISCUSSIONS OR MEDIATION, IT SHALL THEN BE RESOLVED BY FINAL AND BINDING ARBITRATION ADMINISTERED BY JAMS IN ACCORDANCE WITH ITS ARBITRATION RULES AND PROCEDURES OR SUBSEQUENT VERSIONS THEREOF (“JAMS RULES”). THE JAMS RULES FOR SELECTION OF AN ARBITRATOR SHALL BE FOLLOWED, EXCEPT THAT THE ARBITRATOR SHALL BE EXPERIENCED AND LICENSED TO PRACTICE LAW IN MINNESOTA. ALL PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT PURSUANT TO THIS PARAGRAPH WILL BE CONDUCTED IN MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA. THE REMEDY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL BE LIMITED TO ACTUAL DAMAGES WHICH SHALL BE NO MORE THAN ACTUAL OUT-OF-POCKET COSTS INCURRED, AND IN NO EVENT SHALL ANY PARTY BE ENTITLED TO RECOVER PUNITIVE, EXEMPLARY, CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES OR HAVE DAMAGES MULTIPLIED OR OTHERWISE INCREASED, INCLUDING ATTORNEYS’ FEES OR OTHER SUCH RELATED COSTS OF BRINGING A CLAIM, OR TO RESCIND THIS AGREEMENT OR SEEK INJUNCTIVE OR ANY OTHER EQUITABLE RELIEF. PARTICIPANTS AGREE THAT THE RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF ANY PARTICIPANT AND/OR CONTEST ENTITIES AND/OR ANY OTHER PARTY SHALL BE RESOLVED INDIVIDUALLY, WITHOUT RESORT TO ANY FORM OF CLASS ACTION. ANY DEMAND FOR ARBITRATION MUST BE FILED WITHIN ONE (1) YEAR FROM THE END OF THE CONTEST PERIOD, OR THE CAUSE OF ACTION SHALL BE FOREVER BARRED.
PRIVACY POLICY: Information collected in connection with the Contest will be subject to Sponsor’s Privacy Policy, which is available at https://www.generalmills.com/privacy-security/us-english-privacy-policy.
GENERAL: This Contest is subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations. Contest entry is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. Any attempted form of participation in the Contest other than as described herein is void and will result in disqualification. Sponsor/Administrator reserves the right to disqualify any individual found, in its sole and absolute opinion, to be tampering with the operation of the Contest, to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or to be acting with the intent to disrupt the normal operation of the Contest. Any use of robotic, automatic, macro, programmed, third-party or like methods to participate in the Contest will void any attempted participation effected by such methods and the disqualification of the individual utilizing the same. Entries submitted become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. Contest Entities are not responsible for any lost, late, undeliverable/undelivered online submissions. In the event of any conflict with any Contest details contained in these Official Rules and Contest details contained in Contest materials (including, but not limited to, point of sale, television, and print advertising, promotional packaging, and other promotion media), the details of the Contest as set forth in these Official Rules shall prevail. These Official Rules may be modified by Sponsor and/or we may cease offering the Contest at any time. YOU AGREE THAT WE MAY NOTIFY YOU OF OTHER OFFICIAL RULES BY POSTING THEM ON THE WEBSITE (OR IN ANY OTHER REASONABLE MANNER OF NOTICE WHICH WE ELECT), AND THAT YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE CONTEST AFTER SUCH NOTICE CONSTITUTES YOUR AGREEMENT TO THE NEW OFFICIAL RULES. This Contest is subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations. Any attempted form of participation in this Contest other than as described herein is void. CAUTION AND WARNING: ANY ATTEMPT TO DAMAGE THE CONTEST OR TO UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES OR OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON(S) RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTEMPT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. If any provision of these Official Rules or any word, phrase, clause, sentence or other portion thereof should be held unenforceable or invalid for any reason, then that provision or portion thereof shall be modified or deleted in such manner as to render the remaining provisions of these Official Rules valid and enforceable. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules will not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision and such provision shall remain in full force and effect. All materials submitted will not be returned.
WINNER’S LIST: The names of winners (first name, last initial; city/state) will be posted on the Website after June 1, 2025.
